About the project
The project area is part of a cluster of historically developed activities within a heterogeneous district of Ronse, close to the center. In the vicinity there are already various functions such as housing, shops, education, industry and other forms of activity. The area also borders the Molenbeek with 1 side.
The former textile factory 'Cyr-Cambier' was located in the project area itself. These buildings have already been demolished by the city and the area currently consists of a grassy plain. In 2018, the permit application was submitted for the realization of 13 home-work studios.
The project has the ambition to create a soft transition between living and working in Ronse. A new public access road will be provided to the zone, preserving the existing neighboring playground and parking as essential neighborhood elements.
The project comprises 13 units, of which 7 workshops with a linked loft and 6 small sheds without a house. The sustainability is reflected in the use of quality materials, the relationship with the existing environment and technical facilities such as the possibility of electric charging stations, solar panels, etc. The choice for a mixed living-work area offers advantages in terms of mobility and social control and allows an optimal use of scarce space.
