Realtors specializing in renting of real estate in France already count possible losses. Government offers to cut commissions to €11-15 per square meter, depending on the region, from September 15, reports ee24.com citing lefigaro.fr.
Today French tenant who looks for housing usually pays a commission which is equal to amount of rental fee for one or two months. Apartment in Paris can be rented at least for €605, and in this case agents can earn from €605 to €1,210. Under the new rules when renting out such a studio with an area of 25 sq.m realtors won't be able to get more than €375.
Experts point out that this measure will hit realtors in Paris, because the rental fee there is much higher than in provincial towns, while the difference between €11 and €15 is only 36%.
