Croatia: the prices on the coast fell by 4%

Prices on the Croatian coast fell by 4% for the year. In May 2013, a house near the sea cost about €1,532 per square meter, 4.8% less than in the same month a year earlier. For example, a holiday home in the Lika-Senj region could be purchased for €1,626 per sq.m.

Compared with April 2013, apartments on the Adriatic coast of Croatia fell in price by 2.3%. The average price per square meter amounted to €1,606. Accommodation in Split has fallen in price by 12.8% for the year, in Rijeka - 3.1%, in Osijek - 0.1%. Apartments in Split is now around €2,131 per sq.m., in Rijeka - €1,532 per sq. m. In the Croatian capital cost of housing for the year fell by 5.4%. Apartments in Zagreb cost an average of €1,610 per sq. m.

Compared to May 2012, the cost of housing has risen only in the metropolitan area of ​​Gornja Dubrava, where prices rose over the year by 0.5%. The most expensive area is Medveščak (€2,236 per sq. m.). For comparison, the cost of housing in the Centre is €2,058 per sq. m. The most affordable area of Zagreb is Sesvete (€1,165 per sq.m.).
