Croatia's President Ivo Josipovic says that Croatia needs to revitalize its islands that have economic prospects through tourism and agriculture; the government needs to help out Croatia's islands.
"There really is no reason why the state does not help the development of the islands, they have and they will continue to. The government has already made appropriate decisions concerning some of unpromising real estate on islands. Processes should be streamlined and accelerated, because the derelict properties collapse and are not used for anything", said the President.
There is potential to develop the Croatian islands, the main way is through tourism but also through agriculture and it is up to the government to assist, added Josipovic.
"The government will work together with the counties and be partners and personally do all they can to create better conditions for advancement on the islands", he concluded.
