City of two continents, connected by two bridges

Istanbul is a unique metropolis, located both in Europe and Asia, and these regions are connected by only two bridges. Of course, the world knows a few other examples of cites  located on two continents at the same time, for example, Russia's Magnitogorsk, but Istanbul is much more famous.

The exact population of Istanbul is not clear. Some say there are 14 million people living on the shores of the Bosphorus, others say there are 20 million inhabitants. Suprisingly, but there is no transport collapse. One bridge is 4 and 4 lanes, the second is 3 and 3 lanes. Besides a number of routes ferry people across the strait, they depart frequently and travel can be paid by universal transportation card. Also there is an underwater railway tunnel Marmaray, and the 3rd bridge over Bosphorus is under construction.

In general, transportation problems are being actively solved to the delight of residents and tourists. As for tourists, they are many because the city has preserved numerous monuments from every era. Istanbul is predicted to become the next London, with an increase of institutional investors interest. But now it is still possible to buy cheap real estate. For example, apartments in a modern new buildings go for €1,000 per square meter, and the prices for apartments start from €50-60 thousand.
