A new bridge over the Dardanelles Strait, which, as the Bosphorus in Istanbul, is the gateway between the Black and Mediterranean seas, will be built in Turkey. It's planned to build in Kocaeli village near Lapseki (Anatolia) and in Sütlüce village near Gelibolu (Thrace). This project is officially included in the development plan for the provinces of Çanakkale and Balıkesir, which are located to the southeast of Istanbul, ee24.com informs citing the Hurriyet Daily News.
According to the project, the length of the bridge is 3700 meters. There also will be constructed road from Istanbul to Izmir, and it's expected construction boom in Lapseki and Gelibolu, as the authorities plan to increase the population of the two provinces from 1.6 million to 4.6 million by 2040 and develop tourism in the Aegean Islands Gökçeada and Bozcaada.
