In the first half of the year a number of transactions of purchase and sale of residential real estate in Turkey amounted to 524,776 which is less than in the same period of 2013. However, the drop in sales in June has slowed down, reports ee24.com citing Turkish Statistical Institute.
Number of sales decreased by 8.6% in Jan-May, by 3.6% in June and by 7.8% overall in H1 2014.
In June, 92,936 houses and apartments were sold in Turkey, including 20.7% in Istanbul, 11.2% in Ankara and 5.8% in Izmir. 35.4% of homes were acquired with a mortgage.
Foreigners have bought 1,703 houses and apartments, and their territorial preferences haven't changed: Istanbul (600) and Antalya (586) were prevailing.
