In the south of Sweden will soon begin the construction of the residential complex, consisting exclusively of wooden buildings. According to the developers, architectural studios from Denmark, houses with different heights (from 4 to 11 storeys) will be located in a chaotic manner.
The tree was chosen as the main material not only for the purpose of caring for the environment, but also because it can be used to create innovative architectural works.
The project won in the competition, which was organized by the authorities of Orebro. The jury noted the "friendly appearance" of the houses and called the architecture of the project "exciting" and "light". "The wooden city Insru" will be perfectly in harmony with the river Svartån, and a nearby park.
Construction works will begin in 2017, and the first tenants will be able to move here in 2019.
