Sweden: skyscraper in Stockholm will be shaggy

Swedish architects intend to rebuild the skyscraper in Stockholm, making it hairy. It is planned to decorate the facade of the tallest building in the Swedish capital thousands of straws generating electricity and emiting light at night.

As planned by the Swedish architectural studio Belatchew Arkitekter, tower in Stockholm, Söder Torn, will get additional 16 floors and will be called "strawscraper" (similar to a skyscraper). Thousands of plastic bristles will swing in the wind, giving the building an unusual appearance and generating electricity. "Strawscraper" will look especially beautiful at night when thousands of glowing "hair" will swing.

86-storey skyscraper Söder Torn was built in 1997 by the Danish architect Henning Larsen.
