In 2014, investments in real estate in Romania estimated at €1.2 billion and increased by 4 times from 2013 (€300 million), according to consulting company of DTZ Echinox. Market experts hope the trend will continue in 2015.
Approximately one-third of investment in 2014 was spent on offices, a further 45% – retail space, the remaining 15% and 10% – industry and land transactions. Three quarters of investors invested in real estate in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.
The real estate market in Romania is still dominated by two major players – New Europe Property Investments (NEPI) and Globalworth Real Estate Investments.
