Housing in Norway is the most expensive in the history

In the second quarter prices for houses, townhouses and apartments in Norway increased by 3.8% compared with the first one and by 1.4% year on year, according to ee24.com citing the Central Bureau of Statistics. Real Estate in Norway is now worth more than ever in the past decades. 

Since last year, prices significantly increased in Northern Norway, by 4%. Prices in Trøndelag (Central Norway) jumped up by 3.4%, excluding the main city of the region Trondheim. Property in cities of Norway also went up in value: in Trondheim - by 4.2%, in Oslo - by 1.1%, in Bergen - by 1%. Housing in Stavanger, the oil capital of the country, on the contrary, became more affordable by 1.9%. Detached houses in Norway were growing in price faster (+1.9%) than townhouses and apartments (+1%). 

Now price index for all types of property is the highest of all time. If we talk about apartments, then in 1992 the index was 100 points, before of the crisis it exceeded 500 points, in 2009 it fell to 460 points, but now it crossed the mark of 700 points.
