Russians gained 900,000 Greek visas

For the first nine months of 2013 the Consulate of Greece in Moscow has issued more than 900,000 visas. This is 60% more than in the same period last year, according to ee24.com citing ITAR-TASS.

Olga Kefaloyanni, Minister of Tourism of Greece, also reported the recent increase in the number of issued multiple entry visas. Greek visas are issued in just 48 hours, which of course is the record date for such an operation. Madam itself advocates the complete abolition of the visa regime, which will increase the tourist flows. Greece will become the chairman of the European Union in 2014, enabling it to more effectively influence the decision of the matter.

Over the past year Greece was visited by 690,000 tourists from Russia. This is 13% more than in 2011.
