The real estate market in the French Alps has reached the six-year-old maximum

Real estate transactions in the French Alps will be after the completion of the ski season. Some sellers are going to extend the sales period, which became the record for the last six years due to the very low mortgage rates, reported Propertyshowrooms.com, citing data from Athena Advisors.

"Increases on forecasted sales for the 2012/2013 season have enabled alpine developers to leverage offers and soften their prices to provide an end-of-season sales boost before the summer. For some developers this has been the best season since 2006/2007 and they want to keep it going for as long as possible," explained Nicholas Leach from Athena Advisors.

According to expert, now is the time to buy a ski property in France, because discounts are expected at the end of the ski season. However, after a period of record sales of property in 2012/2013 it is expected fierce competition for customers.
