2015 was not so successful for the real estate market in France. Average price index continued to decrease since 2012. In November 2015 an increase was recorded the rise of number of real estate transactions, however, according to experts of Economy.com, a decrease of the price index will continue until the end of 2016.
Prices for French apartments and houses in 2015 significantly increased only in Corsica. The cost of apartments and houses is increasing mainly in the cities that are far away from Paris, but are characterized by good transport accessibility. In the regions of France, the house price fell by 1.7%, apartments - by 2.3%.
As for Paris, there is an increased demand for 1-bedroom and studio apartments. The average cost of housing in the capital of France is €8020 per square meter. It is quite expensive compared to other European centers.
An important trend of 2015 was that due to the fact that construction of new homes fell by 4.1%, the interest to the secondary housing market increased. Prices in this sector increased by 0.3% during each quarter. Deficiency of new buildings can be explained with the reduced number of issued building permits.
