
In 2016, the property in France rose in price, however in some regions the cost per square meter rose most significantly.
On average in the South West prices rose by 7.1%. At the moment Bordeaux is the most expensive to buy a home. Apartments and houses in Bordeaux are sold at €3 571 per sq. m. In Paris, Nice and Lyon, the value of sqm is a little lower. The average for the whole of France is €3 292.
Bordeaux is not the only city that showed a trend of rising prices. The housing cost rise is typical for 80 communities across the country. A significant increase in the cost per square meter (4%) also was recorded in Strasbourg and Toulouse.
