Description
Total area 572 m², ground area 16.4 ha, sauna, bath, water boiler, shower, toilet room and bathroom separate, stove heating, Internet, parking free parking, washing machine, basement, terrace, furniture, parquet, security system, neighbourhood watch.A manor that dates back to 1748 is for sale in Võrumaa, Sõmerpalu parish, Linnamäe village.
The Linnamäe manor was created in 1748 when it was separated from the neighbouring Vaabina manor.
The main building was finished in 1847 and was made in neo-renaissance style. It is a large two-storied eclectically historicist stone building with a tin gable roof. In the gable of the front façade lies the large stone hewn heraldic crest of the Maydell family who owned the building from 1836 to 1939.
The two-storied spacious manor house was built in the first half of the 19th century and features 572 m² of closed net space. The building is renovated to the extent that only three rooms out of nine are in need of renovating to restore them to their former glory.
The first floor of the main building features a front hall that is split into two; a spacious living room; two bedrooms; a water closed; stair hall; and an ample kitchen with a trap door that takes down to basement floor rooms.
An old manor-time wooden staircase takes you to the second floor where you will find a resting room/library with an extensive balcony; two bedrooms; a water closet; bathroom; and three rooms (that need renovating) that open a view to the ponds of the mansion.
The basement floor has a boiler room, a sauna, a washing room and a garage for one car.
The house has two entrances – through the main door of the front hall and through the stair hall at the back of the building. A more detailed view of how the rooms are situated can be seen on the floor plans.
The building has its own sewage system; heating solutions with stoves and fireplaces. The floor of the kitchen has been covered with mosaic stone plates; the living rooms are covered with hardwood floors or parquet; some painted surfaces can be found.
The ancillary gentlemen’s house which is the heart of the manor is surrounded by a beautiful English style park with swerving pathways; a leaf tree forest; a bridge; and ponds with carp fish.
In the Western side/backmost side of the manor park, only a few hundred metres from the main building, lies on top of a small hill the family cemetery of the von Maydell’s.
For sale with the manor there is a two-storied fieldstone granary with a stone roof, which is reconstructed as a shop-café-house.
On the first floor of the granary there’s a spacious shop and bar room. From the centre of the room a staircase leads to the second floor where you’ll find a separate room with a large open studio space that gets its light from two roof windows.
