From the overall number of mortgage loans in Bulgaria, about 5% were granted for people whose income is less than 1,000 levs (€511) and only 15% - for people whose income exceeds 2,500 levs (€1,278), according to ee24.com citing monitor.bg.
In 2013, local banks have issued about 160 thousand mortgage loans, which is by 4% more than in the previous year. The average borrower is a person with income from 1,000 to 2,000 levs (from €511 to € 1,022) aged 26-35 years (over 50%) who's received a credit in national currency (70%) in the amount of €33,165 for the period from 16 to 25 years.
