Samih Sawiris, a billionaire developer from Egypt, is planning to build a luxury resort called Andermatt Swiss Alps in the village of Andermatt in Switzerland. Resort will include six hotels of four and five stars, almost 500 apartments in 42 buildings, 25 chalets, entertainment centers, office buildings and even a golf club with a field of 18 holes. The cheapest apartment in the resort of Andermatt Swiss Alps worth €323,000.
According to portal OPP Connect, the first apartments in buildings Steinadler and Hirsch will be furnished in a traditional Alpine style. These homes will be inhabited soon. Architectural bureau Kurt Aellen GmbH are ready to begin construction of the golf club this year.
In support of the region's economy foreigners were allowed to purchase housing in the houses in the resort without restriction. Moreover, property owners will be taxed at a sparing rate.
The project is already causing concern among foreign investors. Just a half hour's drive from Zurich and the two-hour drive from Milan make Andermatt attractive destination for foreign buyers, said Krisof Birkhoffer, head of real estate resort.
It should be noted that Swiss laws strictly regulate the rights of foreigners to purchase real estate. Moreover, in 2012 the government decided to limit the possibility of building in the tourist areas (the so-called "Weber's law"). That's why there is such excitement around the apartment complex Andermatt Swiss Alps among foreign investors.

Exclusive penthouse area of 621 sq.m. with terrace of 35 sq.m., located in a luxury hotel The Chedi Andermatt 5*, costs €12 million.
