The Spanish Foreign Ministry plans to hold a number of reforms directed to attract foreign buyers in the country. First of all, there are tourist regions.
The Head of the Ministry, Margalla Manuel Garcia, noted that this step was a response to the demands of builders to develop the sector of tourist property.
Foreign tourists and investors bring a considerable income to Spain. Now the government has announced its intention of selling to foreigners about 250 000 houses in districts known as tourist centers. This represents 37% of total assets.
The authorities expect to receive income 50 000 000 000 euro which will help to stabilize the financial situation in Spain and overcoming the crisis.
Anti-crisis measures suggested a changing of laws in favor of foreign investors. Hence there is a planning of raising taxes and eliminating of some benefits for local property buyers.
