In Spain the share of transactions by foreign buyers increased by 17.5%

According to Spanish portal idealista.com during the first half of 2016 39 666 real estate objects were sold to foreigners. The Q2 was more successful than the Q1. For 20 consecutive quarters the number of international sales of Spanish property is growing.


For the last 6 months, the share of transactions with foreign buyers reached 17.5%. The largest number of purchases was recorded in Valencia, Andalusia and Catalonia. In these regions the level of sales to foreign nationals is much above the average: Canary Islands (40,8%), the Balearic Islands (37,1%), Valencia (34,1%), Murcia (25,6%), Andalusia (18.5 %).


Mediterranean the direction of investment is leading among non-residents of Spain - from 4 sold houses 3 are located on the Mediterranean coast.

The least popular among international buyers is the real estate in Galicia and Extremadura.
