Population of Spain increased by 3.3 thousands Russians last year. US Americans are on the 2nd place, and Italians are on the 3rd. South Americans, Moroccans and Romanians, on the contrary, were actively leaving Spain, writes ee24.com with reference to the National Institute of Statistics.
In 2013 the population of Spain declined by 220 thousand people (-0.47%) and amounted to 46 million 508 thousand inhabitants. Population grew only in the Balearic (0.47%) and the Canary (0.46%) islands. The largest exodus occurred in the autonomous community of Castile and Leon (-0.90%), Catalonia (-0.92%) and La Rioja (-1.20%).
Migration balance amounted to 3.3 thousand Russians, 1.3 thousand US Americans, 1.1 thousand Italians. Number of Romanians in Spain, by contrast, declined by 46.1 thousand, number of Moroccans - by 31.1 thousand, of Ecuadorians - by 18.8 thousand, of Bolivians - by 18.6 thousand.
