El Mundo writes that not the Russian president Vladimir Putin but senator Valery Ponomarev from Kamchatka Krai is building a house in Spain, in the village of La Zagaleta close to Marbella. Confusion has arisen because of the similar initials V. P., reports ee24.com.
One of apartments in the village is owned by disgraced Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov. A distinctive feature of La Zagaleta is its increased elitism: neighbors must agree on the candidacy of the new tenants. Among residents there are senior managers, directors and bankers.
Valery Ponomarev has business in Kamchatka, owns several expensive cars and according to the press he's one of the most wealthy senators. Media claim that he has spent several million euro for construction of villa in Spain.
