Church of the Annunciation in Barcelona can no longer accommodate all comers. Regular service are attended by more than 300 believers, and the total number of Russian-speaking parishioners amounts to 1500, reports ee24.com citing noticia.ru.
With the support of the Russian Embassy in Madrid and the Russian Consulate in Barcelona, the request for the allocation of land for the construction of the temple and cultural center was sent to the Catalan capital's town-hall. Church needs to find a plot of not less than 15 acres. Abbot Seraphim Pavlov is ready to consider proposals for a long-term lease or "purchase at a reasonable price".
Russian Federation is also interested in the construcion, because in new cultural center children will be able to learn Russian language and literature for free. Nowadays the church can't organize these courses due to the lack of space.
