The capital of Catalonia has become the most expensive city in Spain at prices for rent luxury housing in the center, according to the statistics of 2015. The average cost of renting an apartment in Barcelona area of 100 sq.m. on Paseo de Gracia is € 2958 per month (29.6 € / m2), 2% higher than last year.
The second most expensive location in Spain for rent is Calle Serrano in Madrid, where the apartment of 100 sq.m. will cost € 2784 per month (a 13% decrease compared to the previous year). Similar apartment in Marbella will cost € 1920 per month.
In turn, at the opposite end of the scale there is the city of Elche in Valencia, where the cost of the 100-meter apartment in the center is € 180 per month (1.80 € / m2)
Also among the most expensive cities in terms of the cost of renting apartments in prestigious areas there are Madrid, Bilbao, Pamplona, San Sebastian and Marbella, where the average rental price is more than 1,500 € per month.
The most affordable regions on this indicator are Alicante, Castellon, Malaga and Almeria - an average price of 200 € per month. In recent years, in both markets there is a strong drop in prices.
