40,000 apartments in Poland. Ukrainians are a way ahead of the Russians

Over the past five years, foreigners have purchased 1.8 million sq.m of residential real estate in Poland, which is equal to 40 thousand small apartments. Germans show the highest activity, followed by the British and the Ukrainians. But Russians are only 10th, writes ee24.com citing qbusiness.pl.

The real estate market in Poland is mainly domestic. In 2013, foreigners have bought about 205 thousand square meters of living space, while the builders have put into operation 18 times more - 3.6 million sq.m. Nevertheless, compared to 2004-2006 sales to foreigners have doubled.

The most active buyers are Germans, British, Ukrainians, Spaniards and Irish. Russians are 10th: wealthy people are trying to save their assets from possible sanctions in the Polish real estate.

Masovia with center in Warsaw enjoys the greatest demand among foreign investors (almost 40% of all purchases). Lower Silesia with capital in Wroclaw (11%) and Pomeranian Voivodeship with capital in Gdansk (10%) are also popular.
