For the first time in 5 years. Houses in Holland are increasing in prices

Buying a house in the Netherlands now costs by 1.4% more than last May. In April the increase in prices was first recorded after 5 years of falling  (+0.1%) and May nailed down the trend, reports ee24.com citing Statistics Netherlands.

Home prices in the Netherlands have stabilized and are at the same level as in 2003. Nevertheless, the current rates are still 20% less than the maximum in August 2008.

From January to May 51,709 homes were sold in the country (+36% y-o-y), the average transaction price amounted to €217.5 thousand (by €4 thousand more expensive than in the whole 2013).
