Sale of Hotel de Rome in Riga for €13.2 million became the biggest deal of the Latvian real estate market in 2013, - informs ee24.com citing varianti.lv and Kapitāls magazine, publishing top 70 of the most expensive Latvian deals in 2013. Riga hotel was purchased for a record money amount by Azerbaijani Benkons MMC.

The Vernisāža complex in Riga purchased by a foreign company City Con Group Ltd for €9.6 million became the second largest transaction in 2013. According to Kapitāls, in the top three also are included the land purchase (for € 9.49 million) and 3-storey Riga building purchase located at Alunana 2. The new owner became MC Estate Company, whose head is the famous Latvian businessman Julius Krumins.

Next in the top rate are 6-storey Riga building at 54 Brivibas street (€6.93 million; buyer - JSC Latvijas pasta banka) and metropolitan land plot and the building at 3 Elizabetes street (34 Dzintaru) (for €6.26 million), were luxury complex construction is completing.

Number of transactions with very expensive real estate has increased in last years. In particular, the number of housing transactions in Riga over one million lats (€1.42 million), counted 39 ones, while it was 35 ones in 2012 and 28 in 2011. In Jurmala were 17, 9 and 18 contracts, respectively.

Besides, there were 44 big sale deals of apartments over €700,000, and 20 of them were over €800,000 in 2013. The most expensive apartment was at 4 Albert street in Riga in an art nouveau style (Jugendstil) house - for which the Russian Eduard Yanakov paid €2.09 million.
