The Coordinating Committee of the Association for the Protection of the Environment and Consumer Protection (Codacons) conducted a study, which resulted in the list of the most expensive resorts in Italy. Based on this study, Porto Cerv, located on the Emerald Coast of Sardinia was recognized the most expensive resort this season.
The study compared the cost of accommodation in 4-star hotels, the rental price of villas and apartments in several Italian resorts. In the end it turned out that renting apartments for 2-4 persons in Porto Cervo costs €1,500-3,000 per week, and the maximum cost of a week stay at this resort is estimated at €26,000 per a villa for 15 seats. The daily cost of a hotel room is around €180-470.
The second most expensive resort in Italy is the island of Capri. One week at this resort costs €1,000-2,000. Then comes Sorrento (€700-1,200 per week) and the Riviera in Liguria.
The most affordable resort in the country is called Puglia. To rent a house for a week you'll need to spend €400-900.
