"Mona Lisa's villa" is on sale for €50 million

Villa of the assumed model for painting "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo da Vinci is for sale in Italy. Homesteads, where Lisa Gherardini presumably was born and posed for a great painter of the Renaissance, was built in the XIV century. Villa di Vignamaggio is estimated at €50 million, according to the portal ee24.com with reference to the European media.

Villa di Vignamaggio is located in Tuscany, near Florence. The estate area is 65 acres. The current owner (since 1988), lawyer Gianni Nunziante claims that Leonardo da Vinci sketched the valley, spread immediately behind the villa, and used it to create a background image on a portrait of Lisa del Giocondo, better known as "Mona Lisa."

According to some reports, Lisa Gherardini, inspired the creation of da Vinci's "Mona Lisa", was born on June 15, 1497 at the Villa di Vignamaggio. However, there are other versions. There is a hypothesis that the true birthplace of "Mona Lisa" was the Via Maggio in Florence.

Italian press claims that Chinese investors and diamond magnate from South Africa have already shown interest in buying "Villa Mona Lisa". The seller denies the existence of specific proposals. It is noteworthy that this villa works as an hotel now: any fan of Tuscan life can stay here.
