Buying in online store is a process that doesn't surprise anybody - millions of people every day make purchases on the Internet, especially on popular Chinese websites. Taobao, the flagship site of the Chinese Internet giant Alibaba (about 90% of the total e-commerce market in China), went on to T-shirts and banal phone - now it is possible to buy Italian historic castle online. Yes, that's right: the castle near Verona was recently put up for auction with a starting price of 100 million yuan ($16.4 million).
"Castle with an area of 2831 sq.m; immigration is possible, only for the Chinese market", that's how the ads on the site looked like.
The photo shows a castle with a tiled roof, manicured lawns, statues and fountains. It should be noted that, in accordance with the rules of the website, the seller (Beijing company Cansine) is responsible for the accuracy of the description of the goods and the accompanying documentation.
But after 12-hour sales period and more than 90,000 views, there was not a single bid. "This is just a publicity stunt," - suggested one of the users.
Castle in the Valpolicella region (estimated cost $27.9 million) is put up for online auction for the first time. Prior to that, through Taobao as the lots were sold four islands of Fiji and several houses in the United States.
