An Italian convent Giaccherino in Tuscany with 50 bedrooms, 40 bathrooms, a church, a library and an olive grove is up for sale for £13 million (€17.7 million).
The convent has 7,246 sq.m of accomodation and nearly 22 acres of woodland. There is a planning permission to transform Giaccherino into a hotel or conference centre, as the ee24.com informs citing Sotheby's International Realty.
The monastery, located to the west of Pistoia, traces its history to 1414, when the Franciscans settled here. There was a chapel, a hospital for pilgrims and a centre of theological studies during the 17th century.
The interiors are decorated original frescoes of Florentine artists (Francesco Leoncini, Alessio Gemignani, Giovanni Domenico Ferrucci et al.).
