Foreigners account for one third of all buyers of real estate in Berlin. The most active were the Spaniards, Greeks and Italians.
A representative of IVG Thomas Beyerle said: "Germany and Switzerland are the last mainstay of economic stability against the background of crisis in EU. Buyers want to save and protect their money by buying the real estate in Germany, so even higher prices do not become a problem".
The greatest interest coursed the real estate in the German capital. The reason it is not only the status of the city, infrastructure and high quality of life. It does not difficult to find an apartment worth 1500 euro per square meter, what is impossible in the other capital cities.
According to the company Skjerven Skjerven: «Those who acquire housing in Berlin bought a huge potential for further increasing the cost. Either in Hamburg or Munich, there are no such opportunities for development».
