UK: the most expensive mansion put up for sale

London's mansion at Carlton House Terrace is selling for £250 million (€293.7 million). The building, located in the exclusive area of Westminster near Trafalgar Square, is the most expensive real estate in the UK, reports the London Evening Standard.

The mansion was built by the most famous English architect-Neoclassicist of XIX century John Nash in 1827-32 in close proximity to Buckingham Palace. The building covers an area of more than a football field and has six floors (including two underground that can be converted into the basement with a pool, spa and cinema). For safety reasons, the mansion interiors, an area of over 4,500 square meters, are not published. There are only black-and-white photographs of the 1890s.

The last transaction of sale of this luxury building has been registered in the British Virgin Islands. According to some reports, the owner of the property in the center of London is one of the members of the royal family in the Middle East. For centuries, there lived politicians, diplomats, foreign ambassadors and members of the royal family.
