The Briton, who bought in 2011 a house, completely overgrown with ivy for 120 thousand pounds, put the building up for sale for 350 000 pounds. Threefold increase in cost due to the fact that the owner had renovated the house, cleared it from the plant and adapted to existence.
The first mention in the British media about the "house-ivy" appeared in early 2011. The house is located in Chelmsford, Essex. The former owner of a two-story house did not cut the ivy, braided construction for 20 years. During this time the plant has had time to wrap stalking the house both inside and outside, and even in the dining room grew the tree. The former owner of the house wanted to sell home for 380 000 pounds, but was forced to lower the price to 120 000.
The amount that the new owner has spent on the restoration of the house, is not disclosed, it is only known that it was thousands of pounds. Only the cleaning house from the ivy took one and a half weeks. After that, the building was renovated and painted inside. The house has 3 bedrooms, dining room, living room, kitchen and bathroom.
