Residential property prices inScotlandlast year fell by 3,7%. This is the largest decline since November 2009, according to the latest data from LSL/Acadametrics Scotland House Price Index. In October prices fell down on £ 5458, but on a monthly basis prices were down just 0.8%. The average price of a home inScotlandis now £ 142246.
The largest monthly prices fall in October registered in Clackmannanshire - 11%. By the way, this area has a low volume of monthly sales. Clackmannanshire in housing prices over the last year fell by 26%. InEdinburghthe figure was 3,6%.
The highest growth (9%) in prices over the last 12 months recorded inEast Dunbartonshire.
The data also show that in October 2012 was up 24% of real estate transactions, compared with September. This is the strongest month of October since 2007. Sales growth looks promising, but largely deals were in the affordable housing segment. Many low-income buyers purchased housing at bargain prices, experts said.
The overall situation inScotland’s housing market is depressing because of financial crisis. Many potential buyers can’t get a mortgage, and the available income is not enough to buy their own home.
