Designer Claud Cecil Gurney skillfully reconstructed the stables in London and turned it into a modern home with an interior in oriental style, according to the portal ee24.com with reference to The Telegraph.

Collecting has always been a passion of Claud Cecil Gurney, the founder of the design house de Gournay, known for its chic handmade wallpaper. Back in the early years Cecil began collecting furniture and Chinese porcelain. He intently interested in interior design and architecture, which eventually led him to create his own design house. 30 years later, the house de Gournay is an international company represented in the salons from New York to Shanghai.

In addition to collecting porcelain and furniture Cecil Gurney loves to collect homes. Gurney recently purchased the stables in London and completely rebuilt it to his taste, decorating interiors with brand-new de Gournay wallpapers. He also commanded to dig an extensive cellar under the house and put a home theater there. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, a dining room and a guest bedroom.

The master bedroom and the bedroom of the youngest Cecil's daughter, a seven year old Anastasia, are on the second floor, and on the third there is a large art studio. Gurney has designed a glass staircase and a glass floor in the back yard, which is also a ceiling for the basement and provides it with sunlight illumination. There's also a rich collection of Soviet posters that Gurney gathered in Moscow.

In addition to the London stables Cecil owns a small farm in Kent, an olive farm in Croatia and apartments in Moscow and Paris. But the most cherished Gurney's dream is to buy a traditional Chinese house one day.
