Childhood house of The Beatles guitarist is put up for auction in Liverpool

A townhouse at 25 Upton Green in Speke, the outskirts of Liverpool, where guitarist and songwriter of The Beatles, George Harrison (1943-2001) spent his childhood and youth, is put up for auction with guided price of £100,000, informs ee24.com with reference to the British media.

The auction will be held October 20, 2014 by the same company Countrywide Property Auctions, which sold the house of John Lennon in Liverpool in 2013 at a price three times higher than estimated.

George Harrison lived in the 3-bedroom council house with his parents from 6 to 18 years. Later, in 1965 he, as the star of The Beatles, bought his parents own a house in Appleton.

According to the seller, in the house Harrison met Paul McCartney and John Lennon and created The Quarrymen, then turned into The Beatles. Harrison was not only a guitarist of The Beatles, but also composed songs (Here Comes the Sun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps).

The fans of The Beatles can also purchase another John Lennon's house – the Kenwood residence in Surrey, an hour's drive from London. The estate is offered for £13.75m. Moreover the posh flat in London, where George Harrison and Ringo Starr lived in the 1960s, is put up for sale for £2.5m.
