In a hole in the there lived a Welsh couple, but soon will not live. The house, which resembles a hobbit house from the books of JRR Tolkien, will be demolished by the decision of the City Glandwr, the county of North Pembrokeshire, in south-west Wales. It is reported by ee24.com with reference to the British media.
25-year-old Charlie Hague and Megan Williams built the house with their own hands in the past year. Residential facility is made of natural materials, and for its round shape is called the "Hobbit House" by the neighbours. The authorities, however, did not like the fact that the young couple erected a house on land owned by them, but without a building permit.
The pair tried to protest, claiming that the materials used in construction couldn't damage the Mother Nature. The family leads quite self-sufficient way of life, and environmentally friendly home was built by them for their year-old son Eli.
The pair has two months to demolish the house and return the landscape to its original appearance. Soon they will be the homeless hobbits.
Mr. Hague and Miss Williams argued that the construction of the house was their only chance to acquire their own housing. Planning Inspector Iwan Lloyd left the decision to demolish the building in force, stating that the structure violated the original appearance of the Pembrokeshire countryside.
This is not the first "hobbit hole", built in Wales. Earlier, Simon Dale built his "Hobbit House" in 2011 for just £3,000 (€3,400).
