Theater goes down into the Sofia Metro

There will be a theater at the metro station "James Boucher" in Sofia. In September 2013, the chief architect of the city will report about this case. It is planned that the space will be equipped with help of the mayor's office, and the installation and organization of events will be entrusted to the Union of Bulgarian Artists. It is reported by ee24.com with reference to newsbg.ru.

In the morning an unusual theater will show puppet shows, in the afternoon will be the time for the rehearsals, and then - theatrical productions. This is the idea of the organizers, who, moreover, promise jazz concerts in the evenings. "This way we'll get one real theater space, where the people of Lyulina (the largest administrative district of Sofia) will be able to come and relax during the long and lonesome winter days," - says the chairman of the Union of artists of Bulgaria Hristo Mutafchiev .

The platform of 500 square meters, which may accommodate 200-250 people, will be given to the artists for free use with the approval of the Metropolitan Council. The plan was introduced by the Mayor Yordanka Fandakova. Now the authorities are negotiating with various banks and institutions. It is possible that the theater can be organized on the public-private partnership .
