Tourist Board of the Canton of Sarajevo awaits an increase in influx of tourists this spring. Coverage of protests and demonstrations in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world's leading media in February has attracted attention of potential tourists, reports ee24.com citing sarajevotimes.com.
Earlier this year, the tourism industry of the Balkan state experienced a slowdown caused by lack of snow in mountainous areas. Nevertheless, it is expected that this year the number of tourists in Sarajevo will break all records. This is due to opening of low-cost airlines and to unflagging attention from the media.
Tourist Board receives a huge number of requests from journalists from all around the world, who would like to come to the country. They are interested in the oncoming events organized by the authorities. In particular, the media wishes to cover the commemorations to mark the beginning of the First World War.
It is recalled that a beach tourism is also developing in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The coastline in the country is quite short, which makes the land more valuable. The Russians, who do not need a visa to entry this country, are actively investing in property in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
