Immigrant share: half of the unemployed in Vienna – have foreign past

About 55.1% of all unemployed people in Vienna have an immigrant background, and every third (about 34.7%) is a foreigner, reports The Local referring to confidential data from the Employment Service of Vienna, leaked to the media.

In total in Austrian capital, were about 107,140 unemployed citizens, and 237,524 person did not work at least one day. Average, unemployed resident of Vienna idled for 104 days in 2014. Unemployment increased among men 50 years old and more (20%) and women (22.8%).
 
Vienna is famous in the European Union for its high standard of living and employment. It is noted that in 2014 the share of foreign employment rose by 5.9% in annual terms. Generally in job in Vienna are interested citizens of Bulgaria and Romania who formed the largest share of the labor market (about 16,600 people).
