May saw the sale of 10 182 houses, an increase of 2,7 % compared to the same period last year. Compared to April, the increase was even as big as 23,6 %.
The increase in sales affected nearly all types of houses. Corner houses showed the biggest increase at 8,8%. Only flats saw a 2,1 % decrease.
Housing sales increased in 7 of the nation’s 12 provinces, with the strongest increase occurring in the province of Zeeland: 17,1 %.
