In Spain a provincial town is rented

A village A Barca in Kortegada municipality in Galicia will be leased. Leaders of the Community decided to breathe a new life into the area's economy in such a way, reports ee24.com referring to El Confidencial.

The tenant will have to hold a large-scale reconstruction of the town, then use its infrastructure in the tourism sector. The village's rich history makes it easier. Through the town passed the main royal highway leading to the glorious Castile. Moreover, A Barca is a key crossing over the River Minho, and hundreds of people and carts laden with goods were passing through the town every day.

Despite the fact that more than a thousand people responded to the placement of such a tempting offer, most of them are idle onlookers who have no real purpose to restore the village. Many offers are made by people who want to get a job in a renovated village - to engage in farming, animal husbandry and religious activities. But the city authorities intend to give up their possessions only to the employees of tourist industry. "There will be no real production," they say. "We want to develop tourism, create jobs in this sector and increase the revenue of the city treasury."

According to the experts the reconstruction of the settlement will take about €1 million, which is a problem, because in Spain there is an opportunity to buy an entire village for just €400,000. Such a method to revive the abandoned settlements is very popular in recent times.
