Construction of the first quarter of wooden apartment buildings Wood City will begin in Helsinki in 2013 and will, say the marketing director of the developer company SRV Taneli Hassinen.
"Now there is a tender for the design of wooden blocks. It will be completed in the autumn of 2012. Autumn of 2013 we will start the construction of the quarter, after adjusting the main plan. Presumably in 2015-2016 the quarter will be built", - said Taneli Hassinen.
The quarter will consist of offices, hotels and commercial buildings with a total area of 27 000 sq.m.. It is assumed that in the quarter will be also about 200 apartments.
