Turkey: the demand will increase for 6%

Foreign buyers  demand on real estate in Turkey will continue to grow in 2016 - such a forecast was made by market experts on the basis of sales results of the 2015.

According to TurkStat, from January to November 2015 inclusive foreigners have bought 22 830 units of real estate in the country. The total volume of foreign investment in Turkish real estate market in 2015 was more than $ 5.5 billion.

The most active buyers of real estate in Turkey in 2015 were the representatives of Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Kuwait and Germany. Total Saudi citizens own more than 1.2 million square meters of housing in Turkey (this figure has doubled in comparison with 2014). The Russian presence in the Turkish market declined significantly both in terms of square meters, and from the point of view of the number of buyers.

Experts explain the increased interest of foreigners to real estate in Turkey with the situation on the currency market, in particular the weakening of the Turkish lira against the US dollar and the British pound in the past two years.
