Airport in Spain is offered at a discount of 90%

Airport in Spain, built just four years ago, priced at €1 billion, is for sale for €100 million, according to ee24.com citing to The Telegraph. This is a consequence of the global financial and economic crisis that has also affected the commercial property market in Spain.

Air Harbor for Ciudad Real city (pop. 75 thd, located 200 km from Madrid), was built in 2009 to decrease traffic in the capital's airport Barajas. It was supposed to build a high-speed railroad between Madrid and Ciudad Real. If it had been constructed, journey to airport could take less than an hour. For some time Ciudad Real Airport was a base for low-costers, but in 2011 the airport was declared unprofitable and then completely closed.

Ciudad Real Airport has one runway about 4000 m length, which allows it to handle any type of modern aircraft. Note that problems with the lack of passengers and bad location are also typical for some other airports. Several of 47 public airports in Spain do not serve commercial flights, and 15 of these airports move less than 100 thousand passengers a year.
