Holiday homes in Greece are increasingly popular among buyers

In 2014, foreign investors spent €250 billion for property in Greece, significantly more than in 2013 (€168 billion). According to ekathimerini.com and Engel & Volkers, buyers spent an average of €77,500 for the object, and the most luxury purchased in 2014 villa cost €850,000.

Right now you can buy for €77,500 an ordinary apartment in Corfu or a detached small house in Crete

Housing prices have fallen by 40-50% in some regions of Greece during the crisis. Low prices was the reason to buy more. The Greek Association of Real Estate Agents and Chartered Surveyors (EPPA) reported that 60% of the objects were bought investors from Europe, Russia and China. The increased demand was observed in the Greek islands of Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Rhodes and Corfu.
