Turkey has banned the Twitter, and Facebook is the next - real estate will become cheaper

According to a court decision and with the approval of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan Turkey has blocked the access to Twitter. If necessary, authorities may also ban Facebook and YouTube. These actions lead to a cheapening of the lira and to the greater affordability of property in Turkey, writes ee24.com.

Reason for the ban of Twitter was the unwillingness of site administration to enforce court decisions and to delete information related to the privacy of third parties. Turks have found workarounds to use this popular service: now they post by 140% more tweets than usual.

Due to the latest events the lira becomes cheaper. This situation contributes to the growth of foreign investment in real estate in Turkey. Specialists from Turkstats believe that interest from abroad will remain stable throughout 2014.
