Real estate sales in Turkey increased by 6.4% in May

In may 2016 in Turkey was sold 114,800 houses. This is 6.4% more than a year ago. 1,612 transactions were concluded with foreign buyers.

The share of Istanbul, the largest city of Turkey, in general sales volume is 18.8%, followed by Ankara and Izmir with 9.9% and 5.8% respectively.


Among foreign buyers of Turkish property the leaders are Iraqis, they acquired in may 163 homes, residents of Saudi Arabia (160 objects), Afghanistan (125), Russia (121). Foreign buyers traditionally prefer Istanbul, Antalya, Bursa, Trabzon, Aydin and Ankara.


In the sector of collateral real estate, is observed a decrease in the number of purchases by 11.6% Last month was sold 35,423 mortgage houses. Transactions with collateral real estate constituted 30.9% of all sales on the Turkish real estate market.

48,8% of transactions in Turkey was registered in the new buildings, it is 14.4% higher than last year. Sales of secondary real estate decreased by 0.2%.
