The number of floors of the Turkish buildings will depend on the width of the streets

The Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning of Turkey changed the rules of urban development, which established the dependence of the height of buildings under construction on the width of the street on which they will be, informs portal ee24.com.

From now on, the building under construction along the roads with a minimum width of 50 meters, can reach a height of 18 floors instead of 25 as was permitted earlier. Buildings constructed in the streets witha a width of 40 meters, can now rise to 16, not 20 floors. On the streets with a width of 35, 30 and 25 meters will now stand only the houses that do not exceed 14 ,12 and 10 floors respectively.

The streets with a width not exceeding 7 meters, will be built up with buildings with a height of 1 and 2 floors. If the street is wider than 7 meters, then it can only have a three-story house on it.

The new rules will apply in cases when zoning plans have been developed, but the number of storeys of buildings is not specified. Then the number of floors will be determined by the width of the street on which a house will be built. The rules were adopted in order to prevent mass development of cities such as Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara.
